SHAN RUNS
In 2020 ultra runner Shan Riggs completed his first cross-country run, from California back home to Connecticut with a friend driving his campervan as support. In 2022, he and his wife completed the human-powered East Coast Greenway Expedition, a run/bike from Florida to the Canadian border in Maine. Together, the two trips raised more than $70,000 (for FoodShare and for the East Coast Greenway Alliance) and had a media reach of more than 700 million.
So what's next? On August 29, 2023, Shan and Josh embarked on a West Coast expedition from Canada to Mexico, using Adventure Cycling's Pacific Coast Route as a guide. Josh is towing their gear by bike, and Shan is running, aiming to set an FKT. The run/bike will benefit the work of the Adventure Cycling Association (ACA), an organization that works to empower people who travel by bicycle.
THE CAUSE
“The Adventure Cycling community brings people with common interests together to accomplish goals that can't be done in isolation. With the power of the community behind us, we work to align the people, places, and infrastructure needed for meaningful bicycle travel.”
